Our research aims to establish best evidence-based practices in providing comprehensive treatment of musculoskeletal conditions from childhood through adulthood.

The Division of Orthopaedic Surgery Research Team is comprised of several clinical practice units, which include the Orthopaedic oncology, adult reconstruction, upper extremity, joint preservation, trauma, foot and ankle, and spine experts. Our strong collaborative nature with the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the University of Ottawa Biomechanics Laboratory, the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carleton University continues to provide a strong driving force for quality research output. The majority of our research efforts have been supported by industry, peer-reviewed grants, and The Ottawa Hospital. Our clinical trials range from local principal investigator initiated to international multi-centre studies.
