Biography
Dr. Frei is an Associate Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University. Dr. Frei’s research focuses on hip and spine biomechanics. Particularly, his interests are the pathomechanism of hip osteoarthritis, the prediction, prevention and repair of osteoporotic hip fractures and spinal fusion surgery. He combines experimental and numerical research for a deeper understanding of pathomechanisms, which may lead to new treatment strategies. In addition, Dr. Frei explores additive manufacturing technologies to develop patient specific spinal and hip implants.
