Biography
Dr. Lapner is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Ottawa and has been an active staff at The Ottawa Hospital since 2003. He completed medical training at the University of Toronto the University of Ottawa, and the University of British Columbia, with visiting fellowships at Nice University and the University of Zurich. He is a Clinician Investigator at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.
Dr. Lapner has taken on many roles at the local, provincial, and national level. He has assumed national leadership roles at the Canadian Orthopedic Association and is Past President of the Canadian Shoulder and Elbow Society (CSES). He has frequently chaired the National Residents’ Shoulder and Elbow course over the past 10 years. Dr. Lapner has published high level of evidence clinical trials in the areas of rotator cuff surgery, instability, and shoulder arthroplasty.
