Biography
Paul E. Beaulé MD FRCSC was born and raised in Québec City where he studied au Petit Séminaire de Québec. He completed his Medical School and Orthopedic Residency in Ottawa prior to completing two years of fellowship in Los Angeles under the tutelage of both Drs Harlan Amstutz (1998) and Joel Matta (1999). He practiced at UCLA from 2000-2005 specializing in joint preserving surgery of the hip as well as arthroplasty of the hip. In 2005, he returned to the University of Ottawa and is now Professor of Surgery, Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Institute, currently Chief of Staff at Hawkesbury and District General Hospital and Director of Research and Innovation for Division of Orthopaedic Surgery. He served as Head of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery from 2015-2021 and Past President of the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Society (2019) and Vice President of IHSA. He is a member of the North American, European and International Hip Society. He is a recipient of the William H. Harris Award twice, the Hip Society Award four times and the Kappa Delta Elizabeth Winston Award. Dr Beaulé has published over 330-refereed papers with an h-index of 68, 300 abstracts and has given more than 200 lectures and workshops in several areas in orthopaedic research.
