Biography
Dr Jarvis has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston and is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary. He completed residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Ottawa and was the Harrington Fellow in Pediatric Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery at the University of Texas, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.
Dr Jarvis has been on the Active Staff in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the Children’s Treatment Center since 1985. He served as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at CHEO for 10 years and was the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program Director at the University of Ottawa from 1997 to 2003.
Dr Jarvis holds the position of Professor of Surgery at the University of Ottawa. His special area of interest is spinal deformity surgery. He is an active member of many societies including the Scoliosis Research Society, the Canadian Orthopaedic Association and the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America.
