
Biography
Dr. Geoffrey Wilkin is an orthopaedic surgeon practising in Orthopaedic Trauma and Hip Preservation Surgery.
Dr. Wilkin completed his medical degree at Queen’s University and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Ottawa. He has two years of subspecialty fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma and Hip Preservation surgery from the Hospital for Special Surgery, in New York, NY.
Dr. Wilkin is passionate about providing the highest level of care to injured patients so they can return to their previous level of activity as quickly as possible. His patient care philosophy is anchored by thorough patient evaluations, meticulous surgical care, and compassionate follow-up during recovery and rehabilitation.
Dr. Wilkin is actively engaged in teaching residents & fellows, is a teaching faculty with AO Trauma North America, and is an Examiner and Trauma Panel Director in Orthopaedic Surgery for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
In addition to his trauma practice, Dr. Wilkin also treats patients with pre-arthritic hip disease that require corrective bony procedures (i.e. periacetabular osteotomy/PAO, surgical hip dislocation, and femoral osteotomies).
Dr. Wilkin is an active research collaborator with the Trauma Service, the Hip Preservation service, and with basic science researchers within the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery.
