Biography
Dr. Coyle completed both his graduate and medical degrees at the University of Ottawa. He remained in Ottawa to complete his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at The Ottawa Hospital and University of Ottawa. He fulfilled a lifelong dream of living next to the Rocky Mountains while completing a complex spine fellowship at the University of Calgary working with both orthopaedic and neurosurgeons. His training included treatment of degenerative spinal conditions with a focus on minimally invasive spine procedures as well as complex oncologic and trauma procedures. He takes great pride in ensuring his patients gain a better understanding of their condition and what can be done to help them with their symptoms.
As an Assistant Professor within the Department of Surgery at the University of Ottawa, his research focus is to better understand the biomechanical factors that improve spine surgery outcomes including the prevention of adjacent level disease. He is also an active member of the Orthopaedic Residency training program, currently serving on the Competence Committee.
